A game in a supernatural post-apocalyptic world
Once Human is a free action game formerly known as Project E.O.E. It's a third-person multiplayer shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world that's been hit by an alien infestation. Players take on the role of survivors who have been mutated and gained special powers.
Much like Shadowgun Legends or N.O.V.A Legacy, Once Human incorporates RPG mechanics into its gameplay that lets players customize their characters with skills and equipment to create different builds. They will also face all kinds of enemies, from creatures coming from space and those who were once humans themselves.
Rise of the meta-human
In Once Human, the world has been invaded by an alien creature known as the Stardust. It brings with it a disease that infected and killed off the majority of humanity. You play as one of the survivors who withstood the infection and gained unique abilities and powers—a meta-human. You must now navigate a post-apocalyptic wasteland, fight humans turned monsters, and find a way to save the planet. The first order of business is to survive, which involves scavenging for resources and finding a way to defend yourself.
There are over 100 unique weapon blueprints spread through the map to collect parts for and assemble. Combine with your skills as you fight various enemies. Use the Territory Core to build a base and shelter which you can customize in any way you like. There is a large open world to explore with multiple unique biomes and factions to encounter. Some will be friendly, while others are hostile, so form alliances and avoid conflicts to increase your chances of survival.
Open to all
Once Human has finally made its way past its Early Access stage and has officially launched in full for players all over the world to enjoy all of its features. After initial feedback that limited players to creating only one character per account, the developers have made necessary adjustments and have now granted players the ability to create multiple characters across servers. The game supports cross-platform play with a few exceptions and offers a seasonal system where each server hosts unique scenarios, impacting gameplay rules and storylines.
Players can transfer essential resources to their personal domain, Eternaland, at the end of each season. Regardless of the server chosen, players will encounter diverse environments and narratives, ensuring an immersive experience. Rewards remain consistent across both scenarios, allowing players to base their choice on their interest in PvP engagement. Additionally, the developers have addressed issues with missing server lists, so players across all regions can now find all the available servers they can enter.
New Frosty Glory Battle Pass and other gameplay enhancements
The Version 1.3.5 update for Once Human introduces new features and improvements, enhancing accessibility and gameplay. One standout addition is the Frosty Glory Battle Pass, which now supports cross-character sharing, making progression less grind-y. Players can accumulate EXP across all characters and enjoy shared cosmetic rewards, eliminating the need to level multiple characters individually.
Significant quality-of-life updates have also been introduced. Players can now delete characters through the Character Management function, with a five-day grace period to cancel before permanent deletion. Additionally, vehicle maintenance becomes easy with the new Vehicle Repair function, unlocked under the Modification II mod tree, ensuring smoother survival experiences.
Other improvements include tweaks to ranching, such as reduced energy and hydration loss for animals and non-perishable food in the Animal Trough. Construction mode now displays trap attack ranges and organizes components by frequency of use. Control adjustments simplify item interactions, and survival mechanics receive boosts like increased Ice Cube durability and improved fridge efficiency for food storage. Lastly, new cosmetic packs and weapon skins bring aesthetic variety to players' territories.
The Version 1.3.5 update brings several bug fixes and gameplay improvements based on player feedback. Issues like reward distribution, gliding mechanics, and stage door functionality have been resolved. The gameplay balance has also been refined, with adjustments such as reducing Ice Cube explosions' impact on vehicles and lowering the teleport cooldown to 5 minutes. Visual and sound updates further enhance the game’s immersion.
